Katherine Heigl has opened up about being raised within "a White bubble." She also explains the impact that this realization has had on the parenting style of her adopted children that are multiracial. The "Firefly Lane" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress revealed in an interview recently that she was told that when it came to the color of her skin, she didn't care the way she looked, but after she spoke with her older sister who was adoptive from South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to the two of both. "I asked my sister, Meg to tell me if she'd received the same treatment while out in public with our parents, and another way when she went out alone without them. Meg responded "Oh sure! Every all the time!" Heigl admitted to parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." She became enraged at the time, and chose to use that anger to support her two adopted daughters. Heigl's husband Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been married for 13 years. They have adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea at the age of 12 in 2009. followed by Adalaide whom was eight years old older and was Black in 2012.
